Bronze flange bearing, also known as a flange bushing, is a bronze sintered bushing that is oil-impregnated and features a flange designed to support loads efficiently. Flange bearings accommodate lower speeds and lighter loads while allowing the mating shaft to move freely within the bearing. Their distinctive flange serves as a load-bearing surface for axial loads, making them invaluable in applications across agriculture, aircraft, automotive, appliances, machine tools, and hydraulics.
Copper is a versatile and commonly used bushing material as it has many alloys and compositions.
Bronze flange bearing is hard and strong, as opposed to brass bushings, which are softer and more easily deformed. Therefore, bronze bushings have a longer service life than brass bushings. They resist shock and impact, wear and corrosion.
They require an external lubricant such as grease or oil during installation and operation to reduce friction and wear.

Oil-impregnated bearing alloys: Oil-impregnated bronze bushings formed using powder metallurgy. Applications depend on the type of oil used and can accommodate high- and low-speed machinery, high- and low-temperature machinery, and food-grade applications.
Copper alloys: Typically alloys of bronze with tin, aluminum, or silicon, these alloys are highly resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for marine applications.
