Cam follower are a type of bearing, generally used in automobile camshafts (the shaft that controls the opening and closing of piston engine valves).Cam follower have a combined structure of thick outer ring needle roller bearings and bolts; lubricating oil channels are provided in the bolts of the bearings; the outer surface of the outer ring has cylindrical and spherical shapes, which can be selected according to the actual application; the eccentric type can facilitate the precise adjustment of the axial position of the bolt when installing the bearing, etc.

Structural features of cam follower:
1. Thick outer ring needle roller bearing and bolt combination structure
2. Metric and imperial series of sizes
3. Lubricating oil channels are set in the bolts of the bearing
4. For easy installation, the large end of the bearing is designed with "slotted" and "hexagonal hole" wrench assembly methods
5. The outer surface of the outer ring has cylindrical and spherical shapes, which can be selected according to the actual application

6. The full roller type cam follower is suitable for large loads and low speeds
7. The eccentric type cam follower can easily and accurately adjust the axis position of the bolt when installing the bearing.
Cam follower maintenance
(1) Check the curvature of the camshaft. With the two end journals as the fulcrum, the radial runout shall not exceed 0.03mm. If it exceeds 0.10mm, it can be corrected by cold pressing correction method.
(2) When the cam follower lift is not less than 5% of the specified value, the cam is not allowed to be ground, but the cam base circle and the radial runout tolerance of the cam base circle to the camshaft axis should be checked; the overhaul standard is 0.03mm, and the overhaul is allowed to be no more than 0.05mm.
