The gearbox release bearing is generally composed of an angular contact ball bearing, a bearing seat (or sliding seat) and its coupling parts. If the clutch release lever, lever shock absorber and conduit are included, the clutch release system is constituted. The main function of the gearbox release bearing is to disengage the clutch through its axial movement, thereby cutting off the power connection between the car engine and the transmission and/or the power input shaft, and assisting in the completion of the car's starting, stopping and shifting operations.
The application of gearbox release bearing in modern automobile clutch system: when the clutch is engaged, the power output by the engine crankshaft is transmitted to the transmission input shaft through the flywheel, pressure plate and driven plate; when the gearbox release bearing moves to the left along the guide tube under the action of leverage , By compressing the diaphragm spring, the flywheel and the pressure plate can be separated from the driven plate, thereby cutting off the power transmitted from the engine to the transmission. The reduction of vibration, noise, and friction and wear of the moving joints are the main problems faced by gearbox release bearing systems, and the research carried out has resulted in a series of significant improvements related to gearbox release bearings. Other improvements to clutch release bearings relate to the material, construction, sealing and lubrication of angular contact ball bearings.
The gearbox release bearing can be divided into ordinary clutch release bearing and self-aligning clutch release bearing according to whether its angular contact can move radially relative to the bearing seat, that is, whether it has the self-aligning function.
The angular contact ball bearing in the ordinary gearbox release bearing is rigidly connected to its housing. According to the rigid connection between the inner ring or the outer ring of the angular contact ball bearing and the bearing seat, the clutch release bearing has the rotation of the outer ring and the rotation of the inner ring.
The angular contact ball bearing in the self-aligning gearbox release bearing adopts a flexible connection with its bearing seat, and the angular contact ball bearing can move radially relative to the bearing seat to achieve concentric rotation with the clutch.
