Grooved wheels with bearings details

Inverted angle iron and grooved wheels with bearings combine to create effective in-plant production flow. Frequently used in tandem with flat faced wheels, the grooved wheels with bearings provide capacities of up to 8 tons, and are comprised of either cast iron, forged steel, stainless steel, or even phenolic (plastic).

Standard offerings feature many different wheel widths and capacities, numerous bearing types and sizes, and are also available less bearings. These grooved wheels with bearings are stocked for industry-leading shipping. Should a size or configuration not be a standard, we will custom design and build what you need.

Running grooved wheels with bearings on inverted angle iron track is a popular and low-cost method of taking loads off the floor and creating production-line flow. A relief groove in the "V" assures proper weight distribution and makes wheel and track "self-cleaning," while a partial flat-tread permits rolling the wheels directly on floors as well.

These grooved wheels with bearings are all cast iron and are offered with plain bore or straight roller bearings while some models also offer precision tapered roller bearings for optimum capacity and performance.

However, proper adjustment of tapered bearings precludes side-to-side wheel play.

To avoid the necessity for perfectly parallel tracks, directional control can be achieved by using a single track on one side only, and running flat-tread wheels of matching height on the opposite side.
