HK bearing is a perforated needle roller bearing, and the stamped outer ring is opened at one end during processing (some companies have mature technology and can achieve the required accuracy through direct stamping, while others need to add grinding technology to ensure the final processing accuracy). But after the final needle installation is completed, one end of the opening will be curled, and the final shape is similar to short cylindrical bearings with retaining edges at both ends in NU and NJ categories. So during the final assembly, the positioning shoulder of the shaft is not pressed against the needle roller, but against the outer side of the stop edge on the immediate face of the base surface during processing. Moreover, the HK bearing shoulder step is generally not a horizontal plane, but an inclined plane that gradually rises from the center to the edge (the step surface in the cross-sectional view is V-shaped, with one side at an angle of about 15 ° to the horizontal plane), and the part in contact with the bearing is rounded, That is to say, the part that truly contacts the bearing is the rounded part outside the shoulder step of the shaft.

Open and closed HK bearing are needle roller bearings with very small radial cross-sectional dimensions. They are formed as a complete unit by thin-walled stamped outer rings, needle rollers, and cage components.
Under normal operating conditions, the sealing lip of open and closed HK bearing can prevent contamination, water droplets from splashing in, and grease leakage. The sealing ring is made of synthetic rubber, with good lip elasticity and a steel plate lining core, which has strong mechanical rigidity. In addition, the sealing ring plays an axial guiding role in maintaining the frame.

For HK bearing needle roller bearings with only stamped outer rings, due to the thin outer ring wall, do not use a hammer to hit and install. Instead, use a press to press in. Because the pressure is uneven when hammered, it is easy to cause local deformation of the outer ring of the needle roller bearing.
