2. Linear slide bearing system abrasive wear
The hard particles (such as dust, sand, etc.) that enter the bearing gap are either embedded in the bearing surface, or free in the gap and rotate with the shaft, all of which will have a grinding effect on the journal and bearing surface. When starting, stopping, or edge contact occurs on the journal, they all exacerbate bearing wear, leading to geometric changes, loss of accuracy, increased shaft clearance, and a sharp deterioration of bearing performance before the expected lifespan.
3. Linear slide bearing system biting (bonding)
When the temperature rise of the bearing is too high, the load is too large, and the oil film ruptures, under the condition of insufficient lubricating oil supply, the relative movement surface materials of the journal and shaft adhere and migrate, resulting in bearing damage. Sometimes biting may even cause relative motion to stop.
4. Linear slide bearing system fatigue peeling
Under repeated loads, fatigue cracks appear on the surface of the bearing perpendicular to the sliding direction. When the cracks propagate towards the joint surface of the bearing lining and the backing, they cause the bearing lining material to peel off.
5. Linear slide bearing system corrosion
Lubricants constantly oxidize during use, resulting in acidic substances that are corrosive to bearing materials, especially to lead in cast copper lead alloys, which are prone to corrosion and form point like detachment.
