Advantages of micro ceramic bearings:
1. Due to the fact that micro ceramic bearings are almost resistant to corrosion, ceramic rolling bearings are suitable for operation in harsh conditions filled with corrosive media. 2. Due to the lower density and much lighter weight of ceramic rolling balls compared to steel, the centrifugal force on the outer ring during rotation can be reduced by 40%, thereby greatly extending its service life. 3. Ceramics are less affected by thermal expansion and contraction than steel, so when the clearance between bearings is fixed, they can allow the bearings to work in environments with severe temperature changes. 4. Due to the higher elastic modulus of ceramics compared to steel, they are less prone to deformation under stress, which is beneficial for improving working speed and achieving higher accuracy.
Micro ceramic bearings have characteristics such as high temperature resistance, cold resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, magnetoelectric insulation, oil-free self-lubrication, and high rotational speed. Can be used in extremely harsh environments and special working conditions.
Micro ceramic bearings classification
It can be divided into: zirconia micro ceramic bearings, silicon nitride micro ceramic bearings, and hybrid micro ceramic bearings.
The retainer material for general ceramic bearings is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as the standard configuration, and glass fiber reinforced nylon 66 (GRPA66-25), special engineering plastics (PEEK, PI), stainless steel (SUS316, SUS304), brass (Cu), etc. can also be used. Ceramic material cages are still less commonly used due to difficulties in pocket machining and forming technology; Due to material limitations of retainers, zirconia full ball all ceramic bearings without retainers, silicon nitride full ball all ceramic bearings, and composite full ball ceramic bearings have been developed for special applications.
The main components of ceramic bearings, such as the inner and outer rings and rolling elements, are mostly made of ceramic materials, which is defined as ceramic bearings; If a part of the inner and outer rings and rolling element of a bearing is not made of ceramic material, we define it as a hybrid ceramic bearing. The widely used hybrid ceramic bearings are ceramic ball bearings made of ceramic materials, which can be divided into zirconia ceramic ball bearings and silicon nitride ceramic ball bearings.
