Cylindrical roller bearings are the simplest type of roller bearings. The inner and outer rings are in line contact with the rollers. The radial load capacity is large and it is suitable for high-speed rotation. Cylindrical roller bearings are separable type, easy to install and disassemble. The basic forms are:
N, NU, NF, NJ, NUP:
l N shape: the inner ring has double ribs, which cannot be separated from the rollers, and the outer ring has no ribs and can fall off freely from both sides;
2 NU shape: NU bearing for heavy industries，the outer ring has double ribs, which cannot be separated from the rollers, and the inner ring has no ribs and can fall off freely from both sides;

NU bearing for heavy industries is more convenient to install and disassemble, especially when the inner and outer rings are required to have interference fit with the shaft and the housing, it shows its advantages. Such NU bearing for heavy industries generally have high rigidity and can only bear extremely high radial loads. Only single-row bearings with ribs on the inner and outer rings can bear small axial loads or large intermittent axial loads. Compared NU bearing for heavy industries with deep groove ball bearings with the same external dimensions, this bearing has a larger radial load capacity, and is also suitable for high-speed rotation from a structural point of view.

This NU bearing for heavy industries allows the angular error (inclination) of the axis of the inner ring and the axis of the outer ring to be very small, only 2'~4'. Therefore, the machining accuracy of the shaft and NU bearing for heavy industries seat is relatively high. Otherwise, uneven load or stress concentration is likely to occur at the contact part of the raceway. However, the occurrence of stress concentration can be reduced by correcting the roller or raceway contact generatrix.

3 NF shape: the inner ring has double ribs, which cannot be separated from the rollers, and the outer ring has a single rib, which can only fall off freely from one side;
4 NJ shape: the outer ring has double ribs, which cannot be separated from the roller, and the inner ring has a single rib, which can only fall off freely from one side;
5 NUP shape: the outer ring has double ribs, which are inseparable from the rollers, and the inner ring has a single rib, which can be freely detached from one side, but there is a positioning ring on the rib side of the inner ring, which can be removed.

Cylindrical roller bearings also have double row NN shape, NNU shape and four row cylindrical roller bearings. Cylindrical roller bearings generally use stamped steel cages, larger sizes or for high-speed rotation use brass turning cages, and double-row or four-row cylindrical roller bearings use pin cages to prolong the service life of the bearings.
