How many types of turbine bearing is available?

There are four types of turbine bearing, namely angular contact ball bearings, deep groove ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings and sliding bearings.

First, angular contact ball bearings have a contact angle between the ring and the ball. In general, standard contact angles are 15°, 30° and 40°. The larger the contact angle between them, the greater the bearing capacity, the smaller the contact angle between them, the better the high-speed rotation.

Deep groove ball bearings are the most representative rolling bearings. This type of bearing has the lowest coefficient of friction. This kind of bearing mainly bears radial load, and can also bear certain axial load during operation.

Self-aligning ball bearings, which mainly bear radial loads, tapered bore bearings can be easily mounted on the shaft by fasteners.

Sliding bearing is a special kind of bearing, which is not composed of outer ring and inner ring. This bearing has no rolling elements. These bearings are made of wear-resistant materials and are relatively expensive to produce. It is mainly used on machines that are difficult to maintain.
