There are four types of turbo bearing, namely angular contact ball bearings, deep groove ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings and sliding bearings.
Deep groove ball bearing is a representative turbo bearing. This type of bearing has a low friction coefficient, which mainly bears radial load and can also bear certain axial load in the working process. Sliding bearing is a special kind of bearing. It has no outer ring and inner ring. This kind of bearing has no rolling elements. It is made of wear-resistant materials, and is mainly used in machines that are difficult to maintain. Self-aligning ball bearings mainly bear radial load, and tapered bore bearings can be conveniently installed on the shaft through fasteners.
It's difficult to deal with the problems of turbo bearing in operation. Because improper treatment will cause damage to the bearing and shorten its life. Generally speaking, we should pay attention to the following points from the perspective of the use of turbo bearing:
1,The bearing clearance should be appropriate, too large to produce impact, too small to cause poor lubrication, which may cause damage.
2,Turbo bearing and journal surface quality and geometry should be strictly guaranteed.
3.Improve the bearing lubrication quality of the inlet bearing, control its pressure and temperature, and strengthen cleaning and filtration.
4.Bearing with lubricating oil that meets the requirements.
The traditional turbine shaft uses the Bushing Bearing structure. It's really just a metal pipe, which completely relies on the high-pressure oil entering the bearing chamber to support heat dissipation, so it can rotate at a high speed.
However, the newly emerged Ball Bearing has gradually become the development trend of turbine shaft. As the name implies, the ball bearing is to install balls on the turbine shaft to replace oil as a bearing. Ball bearings have many benefits:
1. The friction force is smaller, so there will be a better turbine response, which can reduce the turbine hysteresis and be more beneficial to the extreme extraction of power;
2. His dynamic control of the rotation of the turbine shaft is more stable (traditionally, the engine oil is used as a bearing, and the stroke floats);
3. His requirements for oil pressure and quality can be relatively reduced, which indirectly improves the service life of the turbine.
